As I approach the beach Looking for answers The two backstabbers are alone I've turned to them in a time of need before But now things are different Feeling betrayed and walking in shame Crawling up to plead my case The next day, someone is exiled And it can't be me, it can't be me Two whole days It's a brutal, hellish torment No needs met That I wouldn't survive Future bleak Hindering mind and body No remorse Nature has its way of drowning you We think it's in your best interest To accept this ritual's position You pledge your honor and integrity Now prove it to us We must look after ourselves In the hopes that you will parish To further ourselves in this life We must stifle you I don't want to go to exile But you must I don't want to go to exile Have you no trust I don't want to go to exile But you must I don't want to go to exile Think about us My body is crippled Bones feel like caving in I can hardly breathe I won't see another day The time for ritual's approaching Soon my fate may be sealed This journey could be life-ending And I'm not ready to face these fears

Did my ears just deceive me This public ridicule Targeted by the weak They seek to tear me down My name's been dragged through the mud My reputation's been torn I'm tangled up and stitched into her spool of lies Personal attacks gone too far Ego has been shot down And with this dwindling fate How can he recover To enact the sweetest revenge She'll pay the ultimate price She shall no longer breathe She shall not live On our daily life She's a parasite and After I survive exile she'll be sacrificed I can't take it Any longer We must banish This hate-monger Full of evil Full of hell She'll work to end my life Unless she's dispelled My name's been dragged through the mud My reputation's been ruined I'm tangled up and stitched into her spool of lies In her eyes, she's done the work to exterminate the roach Now he's lost his mind Taking the martyr approach I can't take it Any longer We must banish This hate-monger Full of evil Full of hell She'll work to end my life Unless she's dispelled

All my pain All my sacrifice My need to fight I'll pay the ultimate price My work's cut out for me I must convince my adversaries I'm the one to keep She dragged my name through the dirt I fought, I starved, I bled just to prove my worth She's a siren in human skin She'll lie, she'll cheat, she'll beg just to see my end Tonight You'll pay For all You've done To me I'll be Betrayed no longer No longer Oh God, what if they change their mind This feeling won't subside This fear that grips my mind Tightly Sensing a sudden death I'm having second thoughts Could this be my end Be my end

about

"The Martyr Approach" is the fourth LP from band Beneath Purgatory. The album is a concept record that takes the listener through a journey of trials, tribulations, betrayal, and despair through the protagonist's efforts to fight for survival. The album shows a massive step up in production quality compared to previous releases, utilizing production legend Zeuss for mastering and local scene stalwart Marc Vray Jr. for drum recording. The album was once again mixed by Logan Satalino, who shows a massive step up in the efforts to producing a clean but harsh sound. This is the most expressive, brutal, and versitile Beneath Purgatory record yet. You aren't ready.
